2015 Estate Chardonnay
The golden hued 2015 vintage has a bouquet of fresh pineapple and apricot, layered with hints of brown spice, lemon, vanilla and toasted marshmallow. A round creaminess on the palate offsets a mineral character and brightness from its citrus infused acidity. Our Estate Chardonnay, harvested from a single clone from Dijon, France, whole-cluster pressed. Two different yeast strains are introduced at fermentation, followed by three strains of ML (malo-lactic) inoculation and ‘sur lies’ aging for about 9 months in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels, that completes this classically styled Chardonnay.
Our Estate Chardonnay pairs well with a varity of dishes, from complex preparations of chicken and seafood to herb roasted pork dishes as well as sautéed veal medallions.
2014 Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2014 vintage was early, warm and bright. Following extended maceration after harvest, our Cabernet Sauvignon was “barreled down” on December 27, 2014 and spent 15 months in barrel. Petit Verdot, the traditional Bordeaux varietal, was blended in to complement the wine’s mid-palate tannins. This Cabernet Sauvignon’s bouquet evokes olive, red cherry, mint, blueberry and even some tobacco.
A straight forward, structured red wine, with minimal manipulation in the winery, its level of acidity and complexity will complement grilled steak or lamb.
2016 Yadkin Valley Riesling
Our 2016 semi-sweet, Yadkin Valley Riesling has aromas and flavors of green apple and pear with a hint of luscious guava and ripe pineapple. Balanced with crisp acidity throughout, and served slightly chilled, our Riesling will engage and delight the palate.
This surprisingly versatile wine pairs with shrimp, poultry, spicy dishes and Asian cuisine.
